Planning Your Lakes Region Vacation

Now that spring has officially arrived, it is the perfect time to start planning your summer escape to beautiful Meredith, New Hampshire, and the Ballard House Inn.  I know right now with the excessive cold temperatures that we are continuing to have, summer seems so far away, however it will be here before you know it.  Living in the Lakes Region we have so much to offer we have beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee,  The White Mountain National Forest, Mt Washington, and miles and miles of beautiful hiking trails.  I am confident when I say we truly have something for everyone.

The Lakes Region has so many different events taking place throughout the summer, of course in June we are home to Laconia Bike Week, a rally that has been taking place for over 87years, we welcome people from all over the world to come and enjoy our picturesque backdrop that we call home.  In July one of the many events we take part in is the Lake Winnipesaukee Antique and Classic Boat Show, which is held down at the Town Docks, in Meredith, NH.  Every year it boasts over 80 classic and antique boats, so be sure to mark your calendars for July 30th 2011.  Then on August 27th and 28th, Meredith is home to The 2011 Lakes Region Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, this festival has been taking place in Meredith now for over 31 years.  The festival has over 80 artisans who come and display their beautiful work, all for you to view alongside the beautiful Meredith Bay.

However before I forget during the upcoming summer months of your Lakes Region vacation, let me remind you of the many perks you will enjoy while staying at The Ballard House Inn, you will have a full country breakfast prepared each morning, you will also have afternoon tea time with complementary beverages which are especially enjoyed on the back porch swing over looking the like and mountains, and of course we cannot forget Michelle's homemade delicious cookies.    Most of all you will have a warm and inviting place to call home after a busy day of exploring our beautiful area.
